Add health and safety attributes in Google Business
Google Business Health and Safety for doctors

There are a couple of attribute options that Google allows you to add.
To configure this, go to your Google Business profile: Make sure to be logged in and simply type your practice name or brand name in your browser window (not your URL), and you will now automatically see your Google Business listing. You will be able to edit your profile right there, in the browser. If you are a customer and having trouble logging in, simply send us an email or grab your phone and give me a call (not a Digital Practice customer yet? No problem, book a free consult here).
Now, click on ‘edit profile’, then choose ‘business information’, then click on ‘more’: See below.

Next, click on ‘Health and safety’.

Six options are available:
- Appointment required
- Mask required
- Temperature check required
- Staff wear masks
- Staff get temperature checks
- Staff required to disinfect surfaces between visits
You can now add your applicable health and safety attributes in Google Business by clicking ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Done.

COVID-19 updates on medical websites
We recommend updating your website too. There are several ways to do this.
- Adding a popup message that patients see when they land on your medical website
- Adding a static banner at the top of your page
- Or adding a web page, entirely dedicated to your health and safety measures. This option is useful if you have more elaborate procedures in place
If you are an existing customer with Digital Practice, chances are you have a Care Plan. Most of our customers use their time credit for these small changes and updates. If you don’t have a Care Plan, we can still help you. Get in touch with me or Kris and we will help you out. If you’re not a customer yet, book a free one on one appointment with Kris to find out how we can help you communicate well with prospective and current patients.
Here are a few examples of medical practices that communicate their health and safety measures really well.

Dr Anu Mahadik, a Sydney based gynaecologist and obstetrician, uses a popup message to let patients know what to expect when entering her rooms.

Sexual Health North opted for a static top banner to communicate their COVID-19 measures.

Woom in Perth promotes its Updates page via a popup message. The page informs patients about minimising the risk of COVID-19 by taking relevant precautions.
